I am proud to have served the the people of Heighington, Washingborough and Canwick since being first elected in 2009. I currently work full time in the county, am a parish councillor, and have an active involvement with a range of community projects and charities.
At North Kesteven District Council I am Deputy Leader of the Council and also a member of the Executive Board with special responsibility for housing and property services, the capital program and safeguarding. I serve on the Planning Committee and I'm reserve member of the Central Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Commitee which oversees the Local Plan. I am also NK’s representative to the Witham First Drainage Board. I take a particular interest in planning matters and in supporting local business.
Recently I have helped lead our work responding to the climate emergency with real measures to reduce emissions, make housing more environmentally friendly and improve the environment of North Kesteven. I’ve been privileged to lead NKDC’s pioneering work developing new ways of supporting our NHS and local GPs. We're now taking that forward with the aim of getting more money from developers, giving surgeries the facilities they need and providing wellbeing services direct to communities. At NKDC we’re proud to be forging deeper and very productive links with the NHS to improve our residents’ lives.
For an up-to-date look at what I’m doing as a councillor see my Facebook page or Twitter feed. Finally you can see my official councillor page on the North Kesteven website which gives you information on my attendance record at meetings and other information.
