Barry was elected to serve the new Division of Heckington in May 2017.
Barry is a long serving county councillor, and has represented the villages comprising Sleaford Rural South since 1996. He has responsibilities at County Council for Community Safety, People Management and Legal Services, and is a member of the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Panel, and the Youth Offending Management Board. His background as a lawyer in commerce, and his time served as Chairman of Lincolnshire Policy Authority, have provided him with considerable experience for these roles.
For over 30 years, Barry has lived in Heckington and, during that time, has had a considerable involvement in community life. Prior to becoming a county councillor, he sat on Heckington Parish Council.
Last year, Barry and his wife moved away from the village but he remains committed to the needs of Heckington, and all the other villages in his division.
